Got a buddy that's turbo-ing his miata now. He just picked up a GT2860R and he's lookin for 250 whp on low/med boost.
A 20b will fit, there's a video floating around of one at an Auto X track.
But unless you've got 10-15k to blow you'd be much better off droping in a 13BT. You can easily make 300+ hp and Mazsport has a conversion kit.

I have talked of putting a v8 in a miata and pushing 800hp
I have been planing for my miata for some time.
Only the past summer have I started leaning to a v6.
At first I was thinking rb26 or b20.
Now I'm really into the 2jz toyota engine.
The 2jz and do upward 1k hp but...^
Is there such thing as to much for a miata?
The rb20 would be for greate hp and not effecting the weaght of the car to much.
What do you guys think would be best?

inline 6 and v6 are not the same. RB20s are hard to get parts for and you wont make much power, so stop kidding yourself. RB26s are $4k+ for a beat to shit swap ...and then fabbing shit up to fit it into a miata will take alot of work. 2jz will be a hassle to shoehorn in as well...
your better off sticking to turbo I4s or triangles...
XAT does sr20 swaps i believe...
but then again..none of this comes cheap...so keep saving those pennies, and "forrow your dreams" kid...

it's possible to squeeze a 20b in a miata. but the dash has to be pushed back and the fab work will be ridiculous. yes it is an uncommon swap but it is worth it IMO. but dude you need to seriously take a step back and realize that this isnt youre ever day 4k complete swap.
