Default question about Rx-8 + boost

My dad just bought a 2007 RX-8, from what he's telling me I think he wants to turbo it. my question is A: how well do they handle boost. B: what is the best kit, something very conservative as for he is not one to wrench on cars. so basically what is the most reliable path to take?

be careful if yr under warranty with mazda. they will VOID you any chance they get. especially being a new car. stock mazda clutches are only designed to hold up to what the factory hp is. you'll be doing alot more than adding a kit to your car if you want reliability.

just my .2
good luck with the project

drifting fc3s is correct. I work at carmax, and anything that is mod related to a car will void a warranty. But you would have a all out performer if you did have dad do a lil sum n sum n

although this is true, you dont need to upgrade your clutch when you install a turbo kit....Mazsport installs plenty without a problem....

Anyway, I have 53k with almost every mod possible for the NA and my warranty isnt voided yet! It really matters where you go for work.

Wesley Chapel Mazda is great about mods. Talk with Mario (SVC mgr)....also Classic Mazda in Orlando.....

PM me if you need details.....
