NA MX-5: How does it stack up?
I am looking at an NA MX-5 at a dealer close to me. It would be replacing my 1994 Saturn SC2 (LOLCAR). How does it stack up as a daily driver/weekend autocross/drift car? I don't want to get hardcore, just something I can drive day-to-day to and from work and whatnot that will still be fun to play with on the weekends and late at night.
More specifically the one I am looking at is a 1993 w/ a Jackson Racing intake, front sway bar (not sure about rear), and 15" aftermarket alloys (can't remember brand.)
I drove it over the weekend and liked it quite a bit. Just want some second opinions to see if I am making a mistake or not.

What say you TR Mazda forums?

Making a mistake how? If you are looking for a car that's a blast to drive (even slow, better fast) then look no further. Check out our group here in Tampa as well. We do it all in terms of working on these cars.

You really cant find a better car for what you'd like to do. Maybe the later MR2's but they are pricey now compared to a Miata.
BTW those look like 15" Falken Hanabi's, don't really fill up the wheel well enough for a 17.

I keep hearing that. I'm 5'4" so I fit in in quite well.
Oh and just to add, the car is $5,555 which according to the guys as Miata.net is a bit high, but still isn't too unreasonable.
