Default 93 Mx3

Im looking into buying an mx3. Is there certain things i should look out for and such. Could i have some pics of ur MX3's. Im used to hondas and they are easy to modify, is this car easily modified and is it cheap like hondas? What would be some good performance parts to start with?

not cheap or easy like Honda's at all. If thats what you're looking for, stay away from MX-3's.

Problems with them... they are slow and parts can be hard to find. Thats about all. And stay away from auto trannies and the single cam 4cyls unless you like 88hp.

Swap the 1.8l v6 for a 2.5L v6 (kl-ze) from Japan. You need the engine, computer, vaf, and the intake manifold from a 929. Should get you about 180ish hp and I have no idea TQ. Then you get to deal with wheel hop.

Not a ze but you get the idea....

yeah they only have ~130hp. And like the other guy said you can swap to a 2.5L motor but you're still going to dead end at 165-170hp.

stop misinforming this guy, the mx-3 is a very durable and AFFORDABLE platform. My setup including the car cost me less than my friends type r swap and i'm WAAAYYYY faster than him to say the least..........

theres a few swaps you can do, here they are:

kl-ze=2.5L v6 swap pushes out about 180whp/tq
bp-ze=1.8L 4 cyl pushes out about 130whp/tq, easy and cheap swap
bp-zet=JDM 1.8L 4 cyl turbo from a 323 gtx in most cases, rarely a gtr pushes out about 180whp/tq if its a gtx, 210whp/tq if its a gtr
b6t=1.6 turbo dohc out of a 1st generation 323 gtx, pushes out about 160whp/tq

aftermarket support isnt anywhere near a honda, but once you swap you have much more aftermarket support seeing as you can use miata parts for the 4cyl swaps. Car handles great, is very light, unique, damn sexy if done up right. If you dont like fwd, you can make an mx-3 awd. Lates and good luck.
