Its a new rebuild?
Who did it,and why wont they tune it
Yes it is. It was built at CFT in Orlando. My friend moved from there to tampa and its a headache to keep going back and forth.

I for one, like to dyno tune, and see what the results are. But if he can't afford the tune + dyno, then street tune it. Just find a nice straight "street" to do a dozen third gear pulls.
The issue is not to weather street or dyno tune it. It is to try to avoid spending close to a $1000 for tuning.

if you want to settle for a "street tune". i hate to keep plugging it up on here, but if your willing to bring the car down to sarasota, get back to me because we can do it. it would be a "street tune" but it should be pretty close to what you would get on a dyno. not sure, how much it would cost, it all depends on the time it takes, but we have experience with tuning microtechs. i run microtech on my car and we have a lot of experience with tuning rotaries.

theres only one thing that will hold me from doing the street tune. The car has a narrow band O2 sensor.

Well if you're taking it to a "tuner" he'll have a wideband hooked up so he can tune it. They wouldn't dare to take it and tune it with a narrow bad O2. Now, to me it sounds like the $1000 tuning and dyno job just turned into a maybe $350 tuning job.

Totally missed the performance part. Scott would definately be the one around here for that.

He just got the car tuned at CFT in orlando. The car squeezed 217whp, 200lb.ft.tq @ 15psi on a mustang dyno. That is about 250whp.

I guess its time for a bigger turbo. He is thinking about the GT-40.

something is not right,
Theres no way in hell that car only put down that much and its street ported.

Stop being cheap and actually take it to someone who can tune it.I see a STOCK FD pull better rwhp than that.

from what i know, Rolo @ CFT is a VERY good microtech tuner and has a lot of experience with rotaries. I thought that the amount of hp he got was reasonable concidering the size of the turbo and the fact that he didnt push it beyond 15psi.

the engine is ported.
I seen a local montego blue FD,on a dynojet stock, run better than that.

I want to see if the other FD owners here had thiers dynoed..
It still dont seem right.
