I have heard that Mazda plans to remake the RX7 in 2006 with the RENESIS powerplant, both coupe and convertable. A later Mazdaspeed version with come with a turbocharcher that will add 100HP. They have no pics of the concept yet.

 

Where is your source of information coming from?
If you have been online for a while,I have seen people tring to petiton to Mazda for about 4-5 yrs now to bring back the RX7,Well then the RX8 came out.

95 was the last year that the RX7 was avaible for the US,but still sold in Japan till 2002,when the Bathurst Type R was the last to see the assembly line for the RX7 models.

Im very skeptical of the +100 HP coming from a turbo charger,when Mazda dont even have the Renesis turbo charged now,on any production cars..

History has not repeated itself for any old rotarys,once a new line has been out,I heard about 2 years ago,when every one was tring to do the "retro" look,That Mazda was going to redo the RX3 with a modern twist,But it hasnt happend.

If the 7 comes back,I would be happy,but at this point.I dont belive any of it.So I will just wait and see.

I hope it looks nothing like the RX8 cause its ugly as hell.
All of the Mazda line right now looks almost the same from the headlights,to tail lights.They are so similar.

And by the looks of it Mazda has been doing very well on their sales, but it could backfire at them, hope not.

 

My rotary friends have been talking about new rx-7. mazda need to make turbo rotary.

 

well i have heard of this for about 2 or 3 yrs now and what i heard a long time ago it was supposed to debut in 2005.. but obviously didn't.. if they do come out it will not be next year. (i think)
i think i have a drawing of it around somewhere but i believe it almost looks like the rx8/ FD.
