ok my probe has the mazda 2.2l non turbo motor in it and i dont know what the f is wrong with it, it will turn over and it gets fuel but it wont start, i think the timming is way off but i dont know how to set it right on this car because i think the pevious owner took off a pully and maybe put it back on like 180 degrees in the wrong direction, i dunno and i have tryed every thing that i can think of. I willl pay someone if they can get my car running, and ill buy lunch at the fast food restaurant of your choice, lol

be careful fuckin around with the timing, your motor is an interference motor, which is pretty rare for mazda, but just dont fuck up a valve. Check for spark, check to make sure your rotor is on wire 1 when at top dead center, just look around. Post back man.[]Deace

 

i live in st.pete and i am prety sure the dizzy is in the right place, i have checked it like 3 times but i dunno if it is sparking, i will find out later today. sorry if this sounds stupid but i dont know what an interference motor is???

 

nah its coo. An interference motor is when you dont have piston valve clearance. So if your turning your crank to do the timing DO IT BY HAND so you can stop before you bend a valve. If you are lazy and do it by the starter you will definitely fuck up a valve. Just make sure you turn the crank to top dead center by hand and stop if you feel like the crank doesnt wanna turn anymore because its probably because your hittin a valve. How long has the car been sitting?

 

the car has been sitting for like at least 3 months, and i have drained the gas tank and put new gas into it and i cleaned cleaned out the fuel line, and the dizzy is getting spark, and i have been turning the crank by hand and every thing, i took out the plugs and tryed starting it to make sure gas is getting to the cylinders and all 4 were spraying regularly. I just want to do a motor swap and not deal with this perticular motor.

 

man i am the greatest man alive, i got that shit car running, lol, and it seems pretty quick for a stock car, it feels like a high 15 sec car, which is better that having to walk my azz every where or bum rides. thanks to all that tried to help though
