Official Boat Day Thread
If I am not mistaken he repainted the boat. I know that it had a checkerflag stripe on the side and it had black and white on the hull and deck. The guys last name was Insoft. He bought the boat and sent it straight to Engle's last year. They just finished the rerig of the boat a couple of weeks ago. You know you could just build you a set up 2.5s and put on your boat. you could use your midsection. All you would need to do is change the tuner and relieve the exhaust down by the cavitation plate. Just build a pair of 2.5 carb motors. You should be able to make around 250 or 260 hp easily with that set up.
I think I know that boat.
Is it around Nokomis now?
The one I'm thinking of is for sale and is a full race setup. No back seat, big fuel tanks, race hatch, etc.
Yeah, I know I could build a set of 2.5s.
It's crossed the mind many times.
I have port maps to produce 330 horse out of a steel sleeved 2.5 fishing motor. Carbed of course.
But I need a set of sportmasters and would like to have offshore mids.
Not to mention lightweight cowls.
Although, I think it would be pretty cool to have the old Laser clamshell cowls and the 2.4 mids with 330 horse 2.5s underneath. It would make it a sleeper.
It would be much easier to just unbolt, sell, buy new, re-rig, and go.
$$$$$$$$$$$$
Oh well, I just moved here from Ohio. That stuff is on the backburner for now.

no the boat is up here in the St Pete area, somewhere on the intracoastal waterway. Your right, it would be much easier to do, plus you would get a 1 year waranty with new motors, but most people don't have $30,000 sitting around for a pair of motors.
