I was pulled over the first time, it was for exhaust because I hit vtec at like 15% throttle
and he thought i was hauling ass or some shit.Anyways he throws the lights on i pull over in a sub development shut the car off we go through the normal stop procedures before he is about to let me go he asks if i mind popping the hood so he can check my vins, i have nothing to hide so I happily oblige, i popped it stayed in the car he opened the hood and looked around for a bit wrote some things down said ill be right back closed the hood went back to his car came back told me to have a good night...second time we were hanging out at a spot just stopped for a bit to talk to a couple friends, cops came in i was parked a ways away went to leave another way cops blocked me in, went through the normal routine again, they asked to search my car said no problem, jumped out let them do their thing, then we got to b.s.ing about some new roush at the state fair they were then amazed when we told them my little honda beats Steves cobra started telling them mods, they told me they had never seen a jdm B18 in one of these and asked to see it.Popped the hood continued to bullshit cars for a bit then they said they had to go and not to get caught back there again...DC Dave and 2Rowdy were with me for both these stops they can attest, its really all in the attitude and respect you give the cop.
All of these were with my JDM GSR so im not sure what you would need when its a usdm motor with vins, I would assume a bill of sale for sure just in case, although if your vins aren't going to come back stolen you should have no problems
