Best advice I can give you is just be the best influence you can for your little brother, not come in here and get angry at somebody who just about got his hard earned stuff taken from him. I would thank op for not shooting him and letting the law take care of it. People make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. The only thing that would fuck up his life completely would be if he stays on the road of crime cause you know that leads to prison or death and it looks like he came close to both at one time.

The people that did what they did got CAUGHT and need to own up to what they did.
