Cut Spriings ????
its not worth it...your shocks will start leaking if u have stock shocks...i dont think the ride quality will change right away but once your shocks give out its going to be hell.
but hey if u want to cut them i can do it,shared_pm me ill charge u $30

^^^ just because you heat they up wont make them leak unless they put the heat directly to the shock. dropping any car to far with stock cut or heated springs, coil overs or lowering springs can and will damage the shock if slammed to far.
you would only think that older struts or shocks would give out quicker. dont want the op thinking that its because of cutting or heating the spring specifically will do this.
also aftermarket shocks can blow if you lower it to much. i know the kyb has some kind of disc or something in them that breaks when the car is lowered to far to void warranty. at least thats what the paper in the agx i put on my ef hatch said. im sure we all would say if you slam a car extended top hats are a must?

I don't know why people tell lies about cutting springs, if, and that is IF you cut them right the car will not bounce and the the ride will be OK. I've done this in the past four cars that I have, not because I don't have the $400 to $1000 to spend in a real coil over kit, not the cheap thing that 90% of people have, its becasue it works. First you cut them excatly and the same spot the loop goes, if it is in loop by loop counts, if you go by 2 and a half the it'll be the same idea, just cut it exactly at half and turn the rubber upper part so that the spring goes in like stock. Then shave the end of the spring like when it was uncut with a grinder and mounts all bumps stoppers cutting them depending on how much you cut the springs. We can do a text in my car and it rides like a sport suspension only without the need to spend a lot of money on it... DO It Right or DON'T Do It!!! but don't send the wrong idea just because you did a crappy job on your car when you were 14yrs...
Nobody on here is telling lies about anything. To make a long story short no matter how you do it, its still CRAP. Even if your car doesn't bounce right away, eventually IT WILL. I've seen from heated to cut springs on a variety of cars from civics to accords. They bounce like hell. I guess "sport" means bouncy because that's what you get.
when your modding your car, specially "suspension" you would want the best parts for your car, not some hacked up cut springs. Your altering the spring rate on them when you do this= bouncy. Its not always the shocks.
If you like it, then more power to you.
Maybe i should just cut my springs and head out to the track with them. That should do awesome.
Then you can go back and change them out eventually, Double the work.
And FYI my car was perfectly sitting when i cut my springs. I did it at a shop with precise measurements and a grinder. Were in 2010 no need for hack shit like this when springs are soo cheap now and days.
the choice is yours.
