This thread was good for about half a page... then turned to shit for the next 3 and a half. If I ever get my car running I want to get somewhat of a baseline dyno just header back exhaust, 3" intake tube and airbox, Iridium spark plugs. Real power to be gained bolt on wise is the header. Then hopefully a tune I pick up around 10whp?

a header will make or break an n/a build. most power to be made is generally in the exhaust. stock ls/gsr/itr intake tubes are already 3 inch, and the factory boxes flow ok. a drop in filter from ct engineering or k/n and better ducting (ie getting rid of the factory sound box and running a tube with a stack on the end to the air box) is a sufficient enough intake. the ct engineering ice box is an easier fix to the stupid sound box thing. the silly crush bent tiny exhaust and restrictive cats/mufflers are where the power is lost, especially at 8k rshared_pm under full load. its even worse with larger displacement. after that the type r intake manifold and throttle body are good upgrades to the intake tract. above all i think a set of adjustable cam gears, a good header, drop in filter, and larger diameter exhaust with some dyno time is a good start to a peppy street n/a set up. internals is a whole other world to mess with.

dyno chart - gsr cams, itr pistions, bolt ons, better street tune (uncorrected numbers i believe are whats shown), but not the final tune i had on these cams. skunk2 stg1 tuners in there now, new tune to come.
