nice, but still a d-series...which means a weaker transmission...

sweet motor setup other than the 'D' i keep seeing but its always cool to be different, even tho a b-series with the same amount of money in it would be twice as fast

UPDATE

"put my single cam on the dyno today.....and had a little bit of a boost spike on the first pass....oops. lett off early but still cleared 300whp. had the TEC set to where there is no timing at all..so even that number was a little missleading. not quite sure what boost spiked to..i want to say around 18psi. everything happened so fast i just let off the throttle. somehow the AVCR decided to kind of do its own thing, a bunch of the settings were wack even though they were untouched.

anyways...put the boost down to a moderate level and made 275whp at about 14psi. motor isnt broken in yet, so everything is tunned very conservativly.

let me tell you though....i have driven probably 25 B-series motors that make over 300whp. compared to a 300whp B18, this easilly FEELS like a 400 horsepower motor...just due to the turbo size, the redline, manifold, the set up in general....all ihave to say is that i could not be more pleased. 275 with this set up is pretty frightening. the numbers mean nothing.

after seing how things went on the dyno today, i'm going to try to shoot for 325-350ish horsepower on the street...and MAYYYYYYBEEEE touch 400 or so on race gas. i know right now nobody will beleive me or think that that is possible........but we will see how it goes wish me luck!"

"oh yea...i'll try to remember to print out my dyno chart tomarrow or something.

also the scariest thing in the world happend to me on the 3rd pass on the dyno. i was at about 5000 rpm, car is squating hard due to the power and stufff...and all the sudden it sounds like i hit a rev limiter...and the car totally shut off. i almost shat my pants. come to find out...my crank pulley broke and the TEC trigger wheel went flying across the shop! somebody could have died!!!!"

He still has some bugs to work out. He should put over 300whp on pump gas in a couple weeks and more on race gas. To each their own I guess.

yea with a 1.8 not 1.5, on 10psi, with higher compression. how long did it last????? a month?

give the guy some props, its a sweet setup. i bet his 1.5 single cam would walk all over your b-series too

Blah blah blah, Jan's d16z6 from GA in orlando made over 300whp on a stock motor, no stand alone, just race gas and good tuning. Is that a waste of money? Your $3k stock b16 swap is a waste of money. For 3k someone who knows what they are doing can have a 12 sec boosted sohc. What do you have for 3k? high 14's? Im not dissing dohc's its just you always gotta talk about how someones wasting their money on a single cam and how great b16's are. Oh yeah, thats 300 whp on pump gas, wait until they turn up the boost with some race gas, say bye bye to 300hp.

I have a realiable daily diver for 3k, I'd rather have the seatup I have now then a SOHC turbo which is being pussed to it's limits and could go at any time, and keiths motor blew because the vacum line fell off the boost controller. the motor held up fine, How much money was put into that single cam??? SHITLOAD more then 3k. go ahead and add up all that shit..... I dare ya, I bet theres about 5k+ in that thing.
