Doesn't the gas cap and dashboard say "Premium Gasoline Only" ???

87 is very very bad, especially if your tec'ing. Timing is all fuXored up.

How many miles are on the car?
Have you done any regular maintenance lately? changed your fuel filter, oil, plugs.
could also be dirty injectors.
a tune up would probably fix your problem.

styles999: 3000 lbs is not bad. some mkIII supras weight as much as 4000lbs (thats HEAVY)
The prelude is 100 times more of a car than the cavalier. They are not even cars that should be compared against each other. Its like apple and oranges.
now the civic vs. cavalier is more of a fair comparison.
