intakes
Just wondering what everyone out there is using? I swapped the stock filter for a K&N a while back, but am considering going to a full intake swap.
I've seen support for AEM, Iceman and others.
Cold air vs. short ram? I understand that the colder air will give you more power, but won't the filter get dirtier (since its closer to the ground), thus restricting air flow and negating the advantage of cold air?

just keep the filter where it wont get too wet and too dirty, yeah AEM boasts big HP, but its always on a dyno, with a fan in front of it. i have had just as good of time slips with an HP cold air which is some no name brand as AEM, you will make more torque with a drop in K&N. and heres a thought, how hot on a summer day do you think 6 inches above the black yop pavement really is?????

That's kinda my point. I understand that "hot air rises", and that the air in the engine bay is more than likely hotter than the outside air... but we live in FL and the pavement gets damn hot anyway.
It occurs to me that with AEM, Iceman etc you are paying a lot for the name...

If I were to get the CAI I'd also get the bypass valve to protect against water. We're heading into the rain season and that's a neccessity IMHO.

for just regular street driving i use a short ram no name. i do not show the car so i have no need for a brand name. when i race at the track i use my Home Depot specail that i've made from CPVC.
just depends on what your future plans are for the car. if you plan on getting serious or showing your car, then get the expensive one. if not, dont waste your money. then you will have extra money to put towards extra parts. are you going for preformance or for show? they all do the same shit.

This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.
More performance than show. I doubt I'll be going the show route - not looking to sink that much flo into the car. Just want a little more power throught the rev range.
