Usually reducing back pressure too much, also reduces torque. A catback you will usually see HP gains, while seeing torque losses once the cats are removed. This mostly applies to non-forced inductions cars. Once you go turbo or supercharged, back pressure is thy enemy.

You could always get a Performance Cat.. they dont tune down as much sound as stock cat's.

you def dont want to run open header on your honda, you will loose torque and possibly bend your rods. i've been told that if you run open headers that if you rev the engine and let off that air cold air can be sucked up through the header and bend your rods. i was told that by a honda mech who races, he put a three ft straight pipe after the header.

I really hope that isn't true b/c it is the dumbest thing i have ever heard...

taking off your cat will add power, and why do you want you car to be louder ? most people try to make it crisp and quiet.

vito, you've never heard that running open header is dangerous to your engine? do some reading and get back, your post was the dumbest reply i've ever heard. what aharon said is true, you will loose torque and gain hp. it will give you better top end preformance.
