car studders in first gear take off

alright just recently I got a 89 si and just yesterday my gear have been feeling sluggish between 0 -3000RPM im thinking its my fuel injectors nut im not sure. when I press the acceleration pedal my car doesn't react like it should. It feels like vtec kicks in before 3000RPM. does anyone understand what im talking about? like the car hesitates at first an catches up at 2.5k RPM anyone have any ideas?
