not to be a dick, werent you teh one who was argueing with me when i said reusing shit was bad ? sounds to me like someone learned the hard way ?

YOU ARE SMOKING CRACK

civicracer901 now owns my car, it still runs perfect
with like 12k miles on it

and the only thing that was not BRAND NEW, was the oil pump which had a few miles on it. i even had arp bolts and had my rods shot peened
and i got new oversized type r pistons. i also had dual springs on intake/exhaust, i reved to 8500 constantly with no probs.

i spent so much fukin money at hondaland its not even funny.

ask doug or steve there, they know me. just the other day i spent 500 there on new bearings and rings/pistons for my new toy.

and dave the LS bottom end can handle 9k just not the stock one.
like u said the pistons suck dick, but on the rods. they can handle 300+hp
86-89 teg can handle 225. these are numbers right from a honda tuning magazine i have.

i was talking about a stock ls bottom end with ls rods and all. i rev mine to about 8000-8200 and with the eagle rods and arp rod bolts im pretty sure its never going to be an issue. revving to 9k on the stock ls bottom end is just asking for trouble and it wont last very long.

as far as reusing shit goes, it really depends on what it is. u guys seem to be arguing over nothing

With shotpeened stock rods w/ arp rod bolts 8.5k isn't a problem. I've taken mine to 8.5k plenty of times and even to 9k a couple of times. Ran strong for over 2.5 years. I still have the motor, it is just between cars right now.

why do u only go to 8k?
u have a more built bottom than i did.
u could go to 8500+ depending on ur cams/springs

i had type r intake cam and r inner springs on the exhaust side

yea ive tried reusing both. the head gasket worked perfectly fine. the rings didnt so i replaced them

id rev mine that high but my car stops making power that high anyway so its pointless. i usually got to about 7700-7800
