I recently put in an obd1 p28 ecu into my 98 sohc ex with a skunk2 conversion harness. Here is my problem sometimes the car will not start the rpms will jump up and then emmediately bog right out and will not turn over again until I hold the gas pedle on the floor. Then I have to rev it a couple of times to keep it from dying again. Also my idle is bad. It acts likes I have a racing cam but I still have the stock one. The rpms will jump from almost dying to 2500 then back down to dying and so on. Also the ecu has not been reprogrammed yet. Will this help? And is this problem something I should be worried about? And what can I do to fix it? Thanx for your help.......Matt

 

I had the same prob with my pr3 ecu you need to get it reprogrammed immediately i threw a valve because of it.
