Default Help with gauge ! ! !

here are the facts
1990 civic hatch
mini swap convert to obd1

my fan is wired to come on when the key is turned forward and stays on at all times. while driving ect. the wires for the real temp dont work for some reason and thats not the problem.
my temp gauge doesnt work in my gauge cluster and i dont know were the heat is sitting at. im worried i dont want to over heat the motor to its death :/
so i want to know what temp gauge is easier to hook up. a electrical or mechanical one ?
and how to wire it correctly. half the car is rigged i want this done right to get the right reading.
should i wire it the same way the fan is ? or should i wire it different?

if anyone can help i would much apprecaite it

thanks tr

use the one wire connector on your cylinder head temp sensor to a electrical temp gauge, thats the easiest way to do it, use an autometer gauge!!!
