Fluctuating tach and random stalling DC2 Teg
Hey TR, I just picked up a 01 Integra LS a few days ago from a friend. Anyways he told me that when it is cold outside the car may randomly stall. Well this morning it was a bit chilly and it stalled. It happened after about 5 mins of driving and the car was fully warmed up, the tach started swinging widely (independent of the actual rpm of the motor) I slowed down and pulled off the road as soon as I stopped and pushed the clutch in to pull it out of gear the car stalled. After a min or two I started it back up and had no other problems all the way to work.
I’m thinking it is the igniter (ICM) or maybe a loose ground or possibly even some loose wires on the ICM itself.
Basically throw me some ideas so I can trouble shoot.
Also when it is warm outside the car runs just fine no problems at all.

You might have a crack in the dizzy cap or you are missing the "O" ring on it and when it is cold you are getting dew on the coil or ignitor causing a arc.
