Default Transmission solenoid problem

Hi all, I have a 99 Civic Lx and I'm wondering if anyone has had any problems with their transmission solenoid. And does anyone know where I can get the part for under $180? Any information will help. Thanks

You know what I would do? If you car falls inside the affected VIN numbers, I'd try it. If it works you saved yourself the cost of another transmission. If it doesn't work, well you rolled the dice and came up snake eyes.
FIY a Linear Solenoid is $142.55.

Okay, what is the proper way to clean it? And I'm guessing the only place to get the trany fluid is the dealership?
