The car was being tuned for E85 by a local tuner.
The owner was well aware of the risk of pushing his STOCK engine well past 300whp.

I get that, I'm asking if you where doing a pull when it spat a rod, what RPM it was at (if you remember), etc?

It was an engine he got out of the junk yard. Was ran on 93 octane at 16lbs, 100 octane at 22lbs and E85 at 20lbs for a few years. Made 404whp. Next pull rod came through the block mid rshared_pm (6000rshared_pm maybe). A few months later with the new engine the Walbro fuel pump wouldn't pull fuel. The car was a lot of fun for a long time.
