i have a 99 em1 and power steering is gonna be out 1 cuz im goin boost and 2 plain and simple i dont like power steering... ive heard running the rack without the pump will cause it to fail is this true... another question is if thats true can i swap a dx rack in and everythin be ok??

You can always keep PS and run a electric pump from a MR2...

 

na i wanna do away with it i feel i have more control with out it

 

I would like to see more info about it failing not having the pump.

+1, my rack is starting to make a slight noise if i turn from a dead stop. (powersteering rack with no pump..)

 

My friend just said that if I dont loop the lines pressure builds up on 1 side and thats how it fails. IDK how long its safe to drive with it like that. I hate to loop it and not like how it feels driving.

 

I looped the lines on my PS rack recently. I wish I could have used a block with four barbs on it instead of this... but it works, so what the hell. Just make sure you have some oil in there, with a breather on the top (not shown in my pics).

 

i might just do the loop thing... but isnt the DX rack Non P/S cant i just throw that on there and call it a day?
