Hey man, lets keep this simple. It sounds like your completely new to this game so lets keep it simple.

Turbo-is high maintanence and can be difficult to understant the tuning of.
Ls/vtec-can also be a nightmare is your not knowledgable.

you dont want everyone else under your hood when you have a problem.

I'am lucky to have really good friends to help me with mine and stuff I dont know.

Like I said keep it simple for now.

B18c1 with a supercharger, wether it be jackson or vortec, with your budget I would go jackson. Not preffered if you want major power, but it will be more than what you need as a beginner.

Mr Self Destruct can vouch for me on this, that impressive power can be made with this setup from a b18c with his tuning, and its exactly how I started out--as a beginner!

-------------B18c1 supercharged, walbro 255l high press pump, 310cc injectors, and a vafc to start with and you will be very happy-----

dunno if anyone else pointed this out but the b16 does have vtec...all of them, and why do you want a jdm one...the del sol had one...im not sure if there is some kind of performance difference in them but to my knowledge they are all vtec and all 160hp (besides the b16b)

why do you want a jdm one...
The second gen jdm b16 has 170hp and a little more torque(i believe) and I know that the usdms have vtec...just wasnt sure if all the jdm b series motors have vtec...plus i was half a sleep.
