Battery light comes on only when car is off

Battery light comes on only when car is off

91 accord lx completely stock. Battery light doesn't come on when driving only when I turn the ignition off. Car starts and runs normally from the short time I have driven it like this, also no CELs. Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this? I don't want to get stranded anywhere with a dead battery

it might be a sign of your alternator going bad...check the voltage on the battery terminals while the car is running you should get around 14.5v with the engine running.

So key on, engine off?? or Key off engine off?

If the light is on when the key is out disconnect the harness from the alternator. Just to see if the problem resides in the alternator not the wiring.
