I've been doing some thinking lately and I have been considering building a megasquirt 2 based standalone system for the hondas that would plug right into the obd1 harness. no more searching for p28s, no more having to buy chip burners or chips to burn on. with the capabilities of just about any standalone like boost control, knock control, flat shifting, anti lag, etc. if there are people interested i will build it but i just would like to see where the interest level is currently. i would be aim to make the system cost somewhere between $300-400. there would be no wiring involved just plug and play. i know i haven't really given you any specifics yet but it's just a thought, let me know what you guys think.

 

AEM EMS Series 2. it's what i'll be running (hopefully soon) in my Integra. Affordable... it isn't.

i'd just go with NepTune RTP if you need bang for the buck.

 

Do it. Blake did it a long time ago,with Uberdata. He never charged for it,but it kinda lead the tuning software game in the right direction. Although he never patiented it,he made a great program at that time.

 

I mean I see what u are saying but don't u think it would be a little easier tuning on the fly with a system like this where you don't have to burn chips or solder on ur ecu? Just plug in to ur harness and then plug into ur laptop and start tuning. Its just a thought but I want to get other peoples opinion.

 

If you think you can do it go for it...it would be interesting if you get everything working well. I've worked with megasquirt before.

Well just to forewarn you...this IS tr, and tr doesn't like spending money sooooo...I don't know how well it will take off. If you do it, it may just benefit you and maybe a few others.

i would be interested depending on how detailed this would be, i'm back and forth on wanting to get Neptune until i can save the $1300 for the AEM EMS 2 of to just wait and save out right for it (or use financial aid money ). i also know of several people up here that would be as well.

would this include software, base map features, auto correction, stuff like that?
