Check the hinge in the front for the hood. There are 2 (I Think) springs in there and one of them make the hinge stay closed to the hood when you shut it. If that spring is broken or missing then the hinge could open at any time. You will know this because if you move that little lever that you would to open the hood, and it moves freely without any resistance, its broken. Take this advice from me and replace it asap. I was driving on the howard franklin doin 65 in my girls car when the hinge opened and the hood flew up. Not good. Sad part is that I had just got a new hinge and it was in the car when it happened. I could have replaced it the second I got it but I decided to wait. Just be safe and get it replaced.
As far as the exhaust, I would get the car up as much as you can, on jack stands of course, and check your piping for any holes or places where noise could be escaping. Best bet is to take it to an exhaust shop and have them get it on a lift and check it. Most will do it for free. Have them inspect it for holes in your exhaust and tell them to point them out to you. Then just figure out if you should have them fix it or if you wanna get a new exhaust or what. Up to you at that point.
