i wanna boost my civic, $$ questions
if you dont race dont bother doing a turbo kit. otherwise just go with a basic kit. you can source some of your parts ebay and have no issues. people seem to be getting around find with the knock of turbos w/ restrictors in them. if you decide to build the y8 do that. the fjt rod/ vitara combo would be perfect on the budget.
If you want to do it right, it will probably cost you around $8,000. That was the price I came up with when I was looking at turboing my 97 civic.
Remember, theres the right way, and then theres the cheap way. If you do it the cheap way, you'll probably do it more than once, and in the long run, its cheaper to do it the right way the first time.

You can do a mild build for less than $3k, the right way, and make up a good deal of power. You can do a full bottom end build (Vitara FTW!) for less than $1000, including machining if you already have a block. Full build and tune for less than $5k, easily.
OP, it's obvious you should do alot more reading before you decide on anything. Do the research yourself, you'll be alot happier making the decision yourself and not having TR do it. I've been looking at swaps and builds for a little over a year, and I still can't figure out what to do. But waiting, saving, and doing the research is worth it in the end.
ok so here's what i think! i think you should buy a new turbo just the turbo because face it here on tr you wont find a turbo with out shaft play.. with that said after you buy a new turbo($300-700) you can buy the rest of the other parts on tr like blow off valve then a wastegate and then a turbo manifold and you should be well under the $2-3000 mark but that's my opinion
