68mm Throttle body TPS adjustment
Just put a 68mm throttle body on my integra and have a quick question about setting the TPS. I got the info from someone on how to do it but what he told me doesnt add up to what I figured out. What I did is as follows
1. Set Multimeter on 20 and put the positive connector into the red/blk wire on tps
2. Turned the ignition to the on location.
3. With the throttle body closed I got it adjusted to 0.49 which I was told the Ideal is to be 0.45 (getting to 0.49 took some serious adjusting)
4. I went to WOT and that read right at 7.64 and I was told it to not be higher than 4.5 to 4.8
The thing I do not know if those are factory specs and they are different for an aftermarket throttle body or what the deal is. Any info or input on this situation would greatly be appreciated.

you have to do it to those factory specs.. your doing it right.

So what would cause the WOT number to be so much higher? TPS possibly going bad?

broken or bad. Try adjusting it. They are very touchy.

I've adujsted it as far as it can possibly go them rigged it to go even further. Im going to lean towards a bad TPS

LOL.. so you thought i was BSin you? come on man.. i wouldnt give out bad information..
like i said.. on aftermarket throttle bodies.. you sometimes have to sacrifice idle performance for WOT accuracy..
heres something you can try
remove the TB..
remove the TPS..
dremel out the holes (elongate them)... therefore giving you more adjustability..do the adjusting backwords this time... set your WOT as close to 4.5 as you can.. then tighten down one screw.. and release the butterfly.. see how far off out of spec your idle voltage is..worst comes to worst.. make the trip.. and i can calibrate it in crome to accept that lower idle Voltage with the correct WOT voltage..
tisk tisk for thinking i was gaffin.. lol..

edit: i missed the part about u rigging it.. either way.. with the new tps.. id elongate the holes anyway to give u as much play as possible so you can get it right.

I wasnt sayin you were bsin me. I was making sure I was doing it right being I kept getting the same results. I ditched the skunk 2 back to stock and I am still getting the same numbers. I popped the headgasket though so a new motor will be in shortly. I was wondering if maybe the ecu could be the cause?

I would rather set for idle/partial throttle performance. If I remember correctly, the ecu should recognize WOT before the 4.5 volt setting. Do you drive the car WOT for the most part or partial? And aside from this, if you have to sacrifice idle/partial for WOT then you may want to check the throttle body...it is obviously not a quality piece. Try replacing the TPS they are cheap.
