Default boosted d16 issue

Hey guys,

Im hoping someone might have some input that can help me get my car running

So heres the issue.

I got my kit installed along with a phearable chipped ECU + obd2-obd1 conversion harness plugged in (finally). The idle is off the charts. it fluxates very high.

I dont have a tach on my car (civic DX) but the idle sounds it is
fluxating between 2500-3500rshared_pm constantly.

We initially thought this was an issue with a vacuum leak, but we
sprayed everywhere with carb cleaner and had no results.

We swapped in the stock ECU and the idle was back to normal again.

I am convinced there is no vac leak.

this is my setup

Nissan T3 50-trim turbo .63 A/R, JG-fab AC compatable log manifold, Turbonetics evolution wastegate, AC compatable 2 1/2 to 3" downpipe, 2" steel hot side piping, 2 1/2" aluminum cold side pipe, BOV, intercooler, 3" exhaust , Accel 420CC high impedance injectors.

anybody have any suggestions of what i can do to at least make my car drivable? I still need to get my exhaust and some other minor things fabbed up along with an actual tune..

im located in gainesville, so the closest tuner is about 2 hours away...

Thanks in advance guys

Check the idle screw, throttle cable is not too tight, or your IACV duty % needs to be lowered. PM me if you need some help. I'm local.

Basemap..basemap...sigh.

BUT, did you swap the injectors back when you put the stock ecu in? Your new injectors seals could have seated wrong and leaked.

hey guys, thanks for your responses!

ok, so after endless emails back and forth between me and phearable.

it ends up my IACV has already been disabled.... but i still get this odd surging idle.

so i drove my car today with the phearable ecu

-idle was smooth for a bit.. but when i started driving, the surging began again (even after it warmed up)
- driving was smooth, (i did not boost though)

im under the impression that my tune is good for boost and such, and that only my idle is whack. so my car is drivable, but just has a really bad idle...

can anyone give me some good insight on what might be happening here?

im going to get my exhuast and such done and then will be getting a dyno tune asap.

so should it be safe to drive on the highway and such with minor boost?

im under the impression that as long as im moving, the IACV and idle wont be a problem..right?

Right..but that would be why your surging..unless you block off the iacv and use throttle stop screw, your idle is going to change all the time..and even after that, it will change when its cold, when the weather changes etc. You need to get the iacv enabled and functioning properly.

thanks for everything guys. i got everything worked out today . my idle stablized when my iacv was disconnected (disabled in ecu as well).

i know the idle willbe odd when cold starting and such, but after it warms up, the car runs great.

thanks everyone!
