Not really, some of those plastic surfaces don't really get hot plus they have o-rings on them that could keep the water from evaporating. You have to remember, the hose is a "high pressure" water source and can force the water past those seals...but evaporation doesn't have really any pressure behind it...pull off as many of your connections as possible and compress air them out.

I will try that. My compressor is down at the moment, but I have a couple cans of duster gas for computers I can blow all the connections out with.

One thing to note, there was no fitting on the end of the hose, it was just water coming out at no pressure.

Well in any case, you got something wet that seems to be shorting out in conjunction with timing/fuel. What you described sounded like water in the dizzy cap almost dead on so I am pretty surprised to hear it was dry.
