When 1lowSI mentioned checking grounds, the best way is to loosen the bolt slightly, rotate the connecter back and forth to clean away any corrosion behind it, and retighten......on both ends.

Did you also check all the terminals on the ECU, by sliding them back/forth
and double checking the ECU ground?

2Tone suggested the ECU fuse. Where was it located on your car?-Bob

and I presume that the new distributor had a new ignitor....eliminating that possibility.

If you are sure the rotor is on correctly.........

Set your timing marks where they should be.

Under the valve cover, verify that the number one cylinder
has all valves CLOSED.

Open the distributor cap and be sure the rotor is aimed at
the wire/terminal leading to the number one cylinder. If not, swap wires around so that it does.

The firing order is 1-3-4-2. Determine which way the distributor rotates
and arrange the rest of the wires into the firing order.-Bob
