Valve adjujstment questions
Hey guys,
I have done many valve adjustments on D16 motors, setting the intake lash to 0.007" and the exhaust to 0.009". I have not had any problems ever.
When I set the valve lash to the same specs as above on my D15B2, it is VERY loud and ticky, almost like a Mercedes Diesel!
I have to set the lash to 0.004" and 0.006" to make it quiet.
Has anyone else noticed that the D15 valves are louder than those on the D16? Someone told me that this was normal for all of the D15's he has ever been around.

certain d series motors have roller rockers or some other type of valve train compared to others, although they're all d series.
you may want to look more into it, as i've only heard about it, and do not have any proof or experience with it.

Yeah, the HF D-series had roller rockers, but my D15B2 (DX motor) has standard rocker arms.
The reason I am asking is because I have a spare set of rocker arms from a friend's D16 (CRX Si), but they are in a million pieces. If using the D16 rocker arms will be quiet it down, then I will use them.
I already have the head apart, as I completely rebuilt the head after I mysteriously burned a valve recently.
Any insight will be great here. I am reassembling the head later today.
