Ok well I got a couple things, I really need to know what size and thread pitch of the stock oil pressure sending unit above the oil filter. I bought this T-fitting at Lowes. Hopefully it should work, or else I will go a different route. One thing I don't like is the fact that the autometer sending unit is pretty heavy, I would hate the offset weight to loosen the fitting.

ALSO, I need a good compound to seal the fittings and sorta lock them (not permanently though). What should I get??

Hopefully if all goes planned, the stocker will be on the left side, and the autometer on the right.

NOTE: Ignore the Fuel pressure guage, goin in my buddys 383.

I think I am going to do it a little different again lol. I just hate the weight of that sending unit, for fear its going to work loose on the 1000 speed bumps I go over every day.

I read that Autometer recomends mounting it on the chassis of vehicles that see lots of vibrations and running a hose (not that this applys to me, but I like the idea). I wanna go that route, because I already have a mount for the sending unit anyways to mount it to the chassis.

Is there any type of line I can get at lowes or something that is up to the task?? I notice they got a lot of stuff in the pluming area (where I got that t-fitting).

I have a different car.....ran the manual water temp sender into the thermostat housing.........got that thermo housing from a similar car at the junkyard. Adapter came with the gauge....no threading needed.

For oil, got plastic line from an install kit that cost about $6-7
and tee'd it to near the oil filter .......a sending unit is there already.....
there may be 1/8 plastic line and a compression fitting at Lowes

I got a set of Sunpro gauges, they came with that crappy nylon line. I really would like something better then that. Those lines are shitty, if it kinked and broke...whatever, it would ruin my week.

I would like a stainless line or something.

I thought you were looking for cheaper solutions.

Now that I know that you want metal oil line, take the plastic line into the store and get the same OD copper (easier to find). Stainless can be found
at Amazon hose, probably and Aeroquip woven for sure can come from Amazon.....or you might try an american speed shop like Murrays/United Speed World/Automotive Engineering/etc.-Bob

Sounds good bob, I will check them out.

I wonder if I can just run copper line from the block to the sending unit on the chassis. Lowes did have some. Vibrations shouldn't be an issue between the vibrating motor and the rigid chassis running a solid line should it?

Good idea for you to mount the sending unit on the chassis to reduce it from vibrating.....live with what you happen to have. Mount it so it's easy to get to, for servicing if you need to.

I use manual gauges that require no sending unit and nothing electrical.
The gauges come on when the engine fires up. Less parts mean less to fail.

I avoid hard lines for oil lines, since I think hard lines will vibrate and fail sooner than a flexible line. I for sure, would avoid hard lines in a turbo application...too much at stake.-Bob
