H22 thick gasket timing belt not fitting

Default H22 thick gasket timing belt not fitting

Ok as the title says my belt isnt fitting. Is there any other belt I can use or do I have to go custom which I really do not want to please help me asap.

Even with a thicker head gasket there should be plenty of adjustment to get the belt on.

Thats what Im thinking the belt doesnt feel like it can do it but we'll give it another try tomorrow I only tried working on it for a little.

Something isn't right... If this is a stock H22 with just a 3mm headgasket, there should still be plenty of play in the belt to get it all on and lined up.... Just think of how much slack there would be normally that the tensioner has to take out, another roughly 2.2mm would have little affect on the belt...

Are you properly resetting the auto tensioner? Are you sure you have the right belt water pump and lower timing gear? With the right belt there will be no problem getting it on.

^LOL yea bro Im an auto tech not some random dude in the street...its the h23 tensioner that causes the tight fit but now its on.

Is the H22 tensioner pulley the same diameter as the H23?
Is the arm connected to the pulley the same size/shape/length?

If not, then some people would use the one that gives the
most slack instead of the least slack..-Bob

Now educate us if you will,..........What was the key that made the job
work out?
