i am looking to buy an b16a sir2 block and i was wondering how much whp can the stock rods hold and i was going to put low comp weisco pistons in the block to lower the comp a little bit and should i just keep the stock rods i am looking to make around 350whp and im going to get an b16a head an hopefully put CTR full valve trien and will that make around 350whp cause right now i am running an bonestock b18b with an custom turbo kit and on 11lbs im putting 272whp. will you please help me out and tell me what you guys think. thank you

 

dont waste your money on a b16 block build up your b18b

 

i dont want an lsv thats why im buying an b16a i dont want nothing to crazy i just want an b16a with lower comp pistons and a semi built head and putting my turbo kit on it and hopefully get around 350whp...my buddy has an fully built ls block besides sleeves and a stock gsr head with an 58trim turbo built and tuned at cft an on 12lbs he made 320whp which i think is pretty shitty and the car smokes real bad and when i race him and im on 14 lbs im right beside him and i have an bonestock ls motor with an custom turbo kit

 

you will need more work with a b16 then a lsvtec if your looking for 350 you will not make it with out alot of work from a b16 the stroke just sucks im sorry just trying to help ya not be disapointed and wasteing money

 

b16a head, keep your b18b and bore it and add eagle h beams, Wiseco pistons, if built and tuned right you will make OVER 350 whp. We used to make 272whp also but then we listened to Rangcrx!

 

ok well thanks for the help but i dont want over 350whp and i had an stock b16a comepletely stock on 11.5lbs and it made 315whp so i figured with pistons and a semi built head i would make 350whp on 13lbs easy..and i dont want ls vtec if i did i would do what your saying keep my block and buy an b16 head but i want b16 motor

I can tell you our rods were starting to bend at 270hp. But that was running the car all out almost every weekend for a few months.

 

Do NOT waste your time in taking a block apart to just put pistons or rods. You do both at the same time. I seen eagle rods go for less than 300 dollars. Lower compression doesn't mean more power. It actually means less. If you are set on the idea of a b16 boosted for 350whp put forged rods and pistons 9.0:1+ CR with a stock head and gsr cams. I know that's my boys old turbo kit and it can make the power with minor mods. I also remember your ej1 that made 315 whp on 11.5PSI that was I C Sharp's car on here. I have also seen many other b16 stock internals anywhere from 280 to 400 ALL stock. But You don't want that if its your daily driver. I make around 350whp on my bone stock never molested gsr.

 

^ do you have any other names of people with b16 boosted makeing over 300whp I would love to talk to them I can't seem to get any rebuild on stock b16 to reach that whp the b16 is just the same to me as a d16 lol with lil thinker rods..but ring lands go b4 the rods anyway
