LS Vtec conversion

its gona be around the $700 range to do the swap

the complete vtec head and a chipped ecu from phearable.net is gona be $500-600 by itself

arp Gsr headstuds $100
hg $60
arp rod bolt and pressed into the rods $60-70
conversion lines $70-90
and misc wiring $50-100

Can you use a Vfac controller with out getting the computer?

why do people want shit done right but dont wanna spend money? spend the money and do it right the first time....

I just got done saying that im probably putting around a grand into the conversion when everyone is sayin it should be around $500-$700. Why don't you read everything before running your mouth? Thank u

he said he is going to spend money but caps it at 1k, you and i know that building motors isnt cheap (you more than i lol), you can skimp out and do it half ass but why? just build the motor like you really want to so you dont have to worry about reliability. alot of things come up when you build motors or even do swaps for that matter. spending 1k will just barely get it done...

im not bashing you because i wanna slap a vtec head on my b20 but dont wanna do it the way you want to because i know myself lol...plus i dont know how much abuse the b20 bottom end can take revving up as high as vtec heads rev compared to our old heads...again not bashing the man, he knows himself since he said it why not just build the whole motor.

^ Santos, I completely understand what you're saying, and i agree. Honestly, I could put $10k into my engine if i wanted to, but i dont see that as being necessary for a daily driven vehicle that i drive 100 miles everyday to work in. I'm not looking for a crazy fast track car or anything of the sort, i am just looking for a little bit more power and all of my previous honda/acura's have been vtec, and i miss it. I am not ignorant as to what is required for reliability and so forth, and have no intentions on taking the "cheap" way out. However, i think that $1000 is more then enough to cover an LS Vtec conversion without compromising a reliable motor.

very true...now is that 1k with or with out labor? i just see 1k being bare bones minimum but as long as it wont blow up hell why not lol...good luck either way and let me know how it goes because im in the process of wanting to do the same thing except ill be cr/vtec.
