Ok I got my car stuck on one of those concrete parking things. Thank you I know Iam a dumb ass now. Ok The plastic hit one of the belts and the belt decided to shred itself up. I cant tell what the belt is connecting to. The car doesnt over heat or anything so I dont thinkit has anything to do with the cooling system. Im pretty sure it runs the ac I didnt want to turn the AC on because I was afraid it could mess something up. Its a 98 civic HX the part # on the belt is38920-p2a-003. If anyone can help me in the right direction it will be appreciated.

Thanks
Tim

well is your steering any harder? if it isnt then its not the power steering..and if it is your ac (more then likely) then just look under the hood and check your compressor to see if the belt is on it or not...(its close to the front right side when you face the car)

Well what is missing a belt the alternator the a/c comp or the power steering unit? How about this of the three belts on the crank pulley which one is it the one near the block the middle one or the one on the outside away from the block?

Its the one on the ac compressor. Is this something I could attempt to do on my own or am I S.O.L... Till I get some $$. I noticed a little were on the alternator belt should I go ahead and just replace all of them or just the one.

Thanks
Tim

Its simple but I dont suggest you tackle it yourself. Im sure theres someone on the board who is willing to lend a hand.
As for what to replace you can do them all if they have a lot of miles on them and are showing signs of fraying. Other than that just replace the AC belt pretty cheap.

i think there is a tensioner on it for the ac so find it and just loosen it up and it will be a breeze
