Non OBD B16 into OBD1 / Longblock questions.
I have a friend with a 92 Si hes got a B16 non-OBD for a crx project he abandoned waiting for him to pickup.
Questions are:
With the differences in motors other than tranny what is going to need to be added to this longblock to make it a full swap?
What is going to need to be done to ensure this swap will work (wiring etc) in an obd1 car since it is non obd?

physicaly they are the same block and will work! only thing connection wise i am un sure about is knock sensor i am not sure if pre obd has a knock sensor though i think it does so you should be ok! just get tranny and right axles shift linkage etc....
wrong.....to put an non obd b16(b16a1) into a 92 hatch you will need either a hydro tranny or cable to hydro conversion kit....also you will need an obd1 distributor or obd2 with modification your injectors out of the sohc(non obd is low impedence and 92+ are high impedence hence the injector resistor box) also you will need linkage & shifter ecu(your choice I recommend chipped p2
rear l bracket all the b16a1 mounts axles del sol vtec throttle cable(your stock one wont fit) external map sensor from a 92-95 dx or newer throttle body with map intact 94-95 del sol vtec outer thermostat housing(or run the wire to the back of the block) and power steering bracket and 94-95 del sol vtec ac bracket......and a few misc items also the b16a1 DOES NOT HAVE A KNOCK SENSOR. If you want you can get a chipped p28 without the knock sensor or drill/tap the top alternator mount hole and put the knock sensor there.....do some research it will pay off. The bad point about the net is you dont know who is giving you advice or if they know anything at all it can be misleading people would rather give bad advice they are unsure of than to admit they know nothing.

and non obd blocks are different physically than the obd1 and obd2 is different than obd1.....

dude they look physically the same other then fact that YOU say pre-obd has no knock sensor? along with some wiring differnces in which you can cut splice the 92 civic harness and use that they are almost the same! also i figured the question was about switching just the bottom end! One prob. with the net is there are a bunch of RICERS who try to act like they know everything and that they are smart and take advantage of any chance they get try to prove people wrong to make it seem like they actually know SOMTHING! thanks eric

ricer....you people are fools, 1. I run a turbo, 2. I have never had a bodykit 3. I have no dvd player(must be confusing me with someone else) 4. No decals 5. When that post hit the board I had posted that I wanted to trade a ~STOCK PAN for one that was tapped for turbo so I didn't have to weld anything, your dumbass pm'd me and said you had one and I got out there and it was stock, and no I didn't need it, I have six or seven stock pans.
