suspension questions???
I have a few questions that I need to know about a 1999 non-sh prelude.
1. Im going to drop my lude anywhere from 2.25-2.5 in. so does anybody know if I will need a camber kit? If I do... shoudl I get front and back? and what is a good brand?
2. where can I find suspension parts for the cheapest price?
3. I went to lightningmotorsports.com and priced skunk 2 coilovers KYB AGX adjustables and ingalls camber kit for 1018.72... is this over priced?

never buy those type of coil overs !! you will get the cheap mexican bounce. get the apexi world sport coil over system. or the tein (these are the strut and sleeve type) 1000-1400. save a few hunded more and get quality !! theres nothing else like it.

To answer the question your suggested setup isnt that bad. Only concerns are that Skunk coilovers tend to be a bit aggressive w/ a 400/500 spring rate F/R and whether KYB will be able to support such an aggressive rate. Im pretty fond of Koni myself but I believe their off-the-shelve rating is 500 (word of mouth). You can however go through a dealer such as www.truechoice.com and get a custom set of Konis valved for your needs. If youre just doing this for the sake of dropping the ride height with no intent on suspension tuning Id just take the advice given above and go with a simple lowering spring.
If youre going with the sleeve type coilover i suggest Ground Controll over skunk. Skunk2 are fairly stiff as was mentioned above you will have to get good shocks to control their rebound. If not the ride will be bouncy. With that said koni seems to reccomend thier OTS yellows up to a #450 spring. I found this suprising as many people are useing them with #600 and up rates. I have neuspeed race springs and neuspeed koni yellows even with these shocks my ride is still a little bouncy. I believe they are #500 front and #450 rear. This may also interest you. My friend had a 98 lude he droped it on neuspeed race springs and had a good bit of negative camber. He went through lots of tires up untill he sold it. So to answere your question YES you will most likely need a camber kit. This goes with almost any drop below 2. If you have any more questions let me know.

I beg to differ Bill you should come ride in my car with the Apexi WS coilovers.... you wont believe the handling and the ride vs a sleeve biggggg difference when you actually have a matched set. especially with the mild progession springs that stiffen when lowered more.
I recommend getting some real coilovers I have the Apexi WS coilovers on my accord and I love them (before i owned koni yellows/neuspeed race springs) and I can get them for like $800 spend the little more and do it right.

A sleeve type coilover will not be any worse than a threaded shock. Perhaps if people would get off this JDM bandwagon they would realize that there are other alternatives out there offering equal if not better quality.
