Exclamation can i turbo a d16z6 without blowing it?

i got a 93 civic coupe ex with a d16z6 can i turbo it and do it effectively without blowing something up? What additional mods will i have to make or can i do it on a stock engine or is there a cheaper and or better way to get more power from this engine? how much money will i have to invest in this project? thanks.

you'll need a fuel system that can keep up with the higher concentration of air, and an upgraded map sensor if going over 11lbs and a good tune on the ECU. stock sleeves can handle ~13-15lbs of boost but no higher because the top of the sleeve will begin to expand and crack due to the added stress load on an open ended block. also check compression to make sure the head and head gasket are still good, and that everything on the motor is in good working order.

no need to change your head, boost what you have unless you have money to spend.

Youve already got the best head. Boost that.

There goes another single cam. Good luck with the rebuild/engine swap.

+1 except for the sleeves. they can hold more than 15. ive seen 25+ no gaurd on stock sleeves no issues.

just keep the power no hight than 230 on a good tune and you should be good with stock internals.
