I replaced the timing belt on my B16 and noticed that there was play on both sides i thought that there was supposed to be play on one side but not both! I have taken a look at other engines and most of them are tight on both sides...what gives? Also putting new ngks(BKR6E)in and im not sure what to gap them!
Make sure you follow the procedure in the FSM for the adjusting the timing belt tensioner. WIth the tensioner bolt loosened turn the crank pulley counter clock wise until the cam sprockets have rotated three teeth. Then tighten the tensioner bolt and you are done. THere should be tension between the exhaust cam sprocket and crank pulley.
