Air Bypass Valve??
hey everyone. i am saving up to buy an AEM cold air intake for my 94 integra RS. i was wondering if an air bypass valve for an extra $40 - $50 is needed. I have read that you only need the bypass valve if your air filter is completely under water in a big puddle or something. is this true? or should i just save up the extra money and get it? is it a nessecity? thanks for the help - Brad
it defeats the whole purpose of having a cold air intake... the bypass valve is mounted in the engine bay sucking in hot air... plus if water wants to get in its gonna get in... IMO the bypass valve is almost worthless just another way for AEM to make some money...
you might as well buy a short ram save some money and be completely worry free... my .02

There isnt enough of a pressure change to open the rubber diaphram unless the inlet is obstructed. So no it doesnt suck in hot engine bay air.
