hey tr i was in my car today and for some reason vtec started not poping hard at all it was really weak, and the engine was struggling to get to a 100 more than the usual.. (d series hate 100+ lol).. then i start hearing this radaling noise coming from the engine.. its only when im about to shift no matter if i get on it, it does not raddle while is idling or while normal driving.. but every time my tranny shifts i can hear the radaling noice.. i have not been able to rev it hard while on neutral cuz its late its the first thing ima gonna do tomorrow morning,, but what do you guys think?? its not smoking or anything,,, lmk thnx

sounds like the same to me.. started it this morning and it was knocking.. not baaad but it was doing it.. could this be that im in need of an oil pump??

 

could be the oil pump, or a clogged pick-up. i just went through that on my 'rent's nissan xe pickup truck... clogged pick-up and a destroyed rocker arm. i thought it was rod-knock too but after the pick-up was cleaned it stopped.

 

if you spun a bearing you should give t & c a call and start an ls/vtec build

 

well ended up been it had lost out all the oil thru the vtec solenoid.. i put oil in it it still has a bit of a knock at high rpm, but its fine under regular load.. so i guess its time to go B.. lol thnx for all the help guys..
