Several people have told you to check the voltage on the TPS before you go putting another one on there. IIRC put a multimeter on the hot wire to the TPS then ground it out turn the key to the on pos. and check the voltage both at open and then at WOT. If it's out of specs then adjust it.

Don't take life so serious. It's not like were getting out of it alive anyway.

now my question is... how would he adjust it? i think im having the same problem in my single slam..

and wouldnt putting another one, solve the problem anyway? i mean the new one should be calibrated right?

No it wont be calibrated. You have to cut a slit into the screws that are on the tps now...unscrew them just a bit (enough to spin the tps)...you then adjust it from there.

It may however still be his TPS if it doesn't read a steady voltage. This is why we said calibrate it first before installing the new one. I did a quick google search and didn't find any pictures but there were a ton of write ups so just search it.

I never even knew that you could calibrate a TPS. How will I know when I have the specs right?

Your better off getting someone on here to do it for you and you just throw them like $20. I'm certain a lot of people will have no issues helping you out for a 18 pack of beer ...I would if you lived in my area.

Ha I've just never messed with a TPS sensor on any car and don't really know what I'm supposed to do. I've got some friends near here that can help me out.

Just buy a helms manual...it will explain how to in detail...plus you can use it in the future.
