LS/Vetc vs. B16

Which is better for use of street?
How can i get a hold of one?
Is there a certin year that i need thats better then the other?
Is there any advise i need before dropping it into a 92 hb.
Who does the LS to Vetc ? Can i do it myself?
Do they have alot of mods for the LS motor vs. B16?
:confused:
I know that this is alot of questions but i really need to know? my car suxs being slow.:sadwavey:

lsvtec is way better than a b16from every aspect

Agreed.

You can put the VTEC head on yourself....just gotta have all the right parts and know what the hell youre doing. There are lots of mods for LSs.....most (not all) stuff thats for GS-Rs will also be available for the LS.

youre going to run into reliability probs with the ls/vtec...i would do thatif i had the money though

depends on how extreme you want to go. You can do it as cheap as about 1500 or as much as 4k. This depending on what parts you decide to go with block work and who installs it. There are a couple people on the board that do it. Letsrollagn and mrselfdestruct are 2 that I know of and from what Ive heard about them both they are HIGHLY recommended.

1500 what all does that do to the LS ? Does it make more boost!(hp).
when i get the LS swap can i get a hold of MRselfdestruct and have him install a b16 head. or maybe you know what is recomended? What head should i use?

If done properly an LS/VTEC can be just as reliable as anything else.

And as for making more boost....no you will not make more boost as you dont have turbo. You will up your HP....Im just not sure how much.

if you only spend 1500 on an ls/vtec you would probably run into reliability problems. Do it right the first time or do it again. As far as which head to use Im pretty sure and please correct me if Im wrong but the head mostly used (for pricing reasons and a for better flow) is the b16 head. If you already have a running engine in the hatch you might want to consider just piecing the LS/vtec until you have everything and your ready to have it installed. just my .02
