cam gear tuning???s

how would you set the cam gears for more top end power as opposed to mid-range and low end???i think im supposed to retard it but i wanna be sure..i know i need a dyno but i waiting on my cams 2 come in first...thanks in advance

not much experience with timing (i wouldnt personally fuc with it but i think advance is usally for na to retard it for forced induction ??
