I've tried checking codes in the past. Never was able to comprehend exactly how to determine the CEL. Another problem has arisen now to top it off. I changed my schedule reccently starting next week I'll have more time to mess with it. Still don't know what I'm doing and Im pretty sure the CEL doesn't have to do with this problem. I forgot to mention it's been on since I bought it. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all.

 

Codes: 17, 7, 5, 33, 7..... That's if I did it properly. I need some help finding these parts too if anyone can help.

 

you might have done it wrong because i cant find any info on a code 33.

5 and 7 are map sensor and tps respectively. the plugs could be reversed sine they use the same type of plug. 17 is for the speed sensor, does your speedometer work? does it work all the time?

 

Speedo and tachometer don't work. I bought the car like that from the dealer. I looked pretty much everything up already. I know that I have some $ just looking for a parts car so I can fix this piece of shit. I will investigate what "33" really was. First I'm doing a good ol tune up and replacing the dizzy gasket.

get them from the junkyard. alot of time used OEM parts are better than the garbage stuff from the part store. go to hondahookup.com and download the factory service manual for your car. it will give you a breakdown of exactly how to track down the cause of each code. and it will even tell you in detail how to check the codes and understand their meanings. post up if you need anything else.
