Been Helping a buddy out with some misc BS, and he brings the car over and theres smoke comming out of valve cover (Breather) and the car feels like it running on 3 cylinders?? Weird. OBD-0, B16, Not a new swap, she been together and running fine for over a yr or so. 240 Inj. PR3 ECU, She's not throwing any cels, Stock bin file, Typical I/H/E, Checked the Dizzy Cap, its fine. Internal coil, ignitor ohms out with in spec. evan put a new O2 sensor in it for the hell of it.
Did a Comp test, Leak Down, all is fine there. Never Over Heated, Changed Plugs, Average wear. He bought new wires, we changed them. Hard to start. Fuel pressure is at 42 Psi. Smokes a tad out the exaust when getting on it up top. She could use New valve stem seals. Hes running GSR Cams.
Pretty Much the same set up as mine, except mine is a LS/Vtec, and I have a GSR Int and a B16 Ext cam in mine.
His Cam Gears are both at "0"...
I know a little smoke is some what usaul, but not like this. He sits at a light and you can see it comming out from under the hood. Weird.. Yet anoying.

Looking for any suggestions or thoughts..

check that breather can in the back of the block and make sure its not clogged up or filled with oil..

 

Souns like blow-by caused by either Cracked rings/ringland/sleeve/bent vlave/or valve guide or valve seals.

 

had the same problem with an old b18 motor, it was a combination of bad valve seals, cracked rings, and a warped head

Sounds good to me, Ill check the PCV, and the breather box tonight when I get off. Though the rings are new when I did the initial build, anything is possible. Valve guides/seals I ordered Last night. Gonna do them this week. Gonna tear it down as well.
You almost swear it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders, but its not. Gotta be a valve issue on one of the cylinders..
